"Sick" part 1, by Christa Wojciechowski
Part 1
"Sick by Christa Wojciechowski a well-written, well-researched, and eye-opening book to help raise awareness of Factitious Disorder, an illness that, over time, might make you question those you love, medical staff, and even yourself. Emotional, thought-provoking, and at times, unbelievable, this a book that made me put part 2 on my to be read list!”-Green Gables Book Reviews

About the book Sick by Christa Wojciechowski
John and Susan. Married, no children. What once was excitement and expectation of a beautiful life and marriage changed as John seemed to take on generations worth of health issues. It seems the hospital was more their home than their small ugly duckling home, as John had named it, the servant's quarters at John’s family’s former estate. Thankfully, the new owners let them stay there, despite being behind on rent, years behind.
Through the years, John’s health issues have led to multiple surgeries, more testing than someone can count, and the need for high doses of pain medication. The last surgery led to immense pain that the prescribed medication didn’t even begin to ease. Suze has often wondered through the years how she went from being John’s wife to his nurse and almost mother. She looks around their home and sees what ambulance drivers see each time they come. Piles, mess, illness. She needs a break. She needs a moment, a moment to just be.
When John returns home from his latest surgery, his pain levels make him needy and demanding. Suze understands and empathizes, and he is in so much pain. His pain levels have made her do things she isn’t proud of. So has John. She needs her job to pay medical bills, but how much longer will her boss and co-workers be understanding? When different people make comments to Susan about John, she is first upset, then confused. They must be mistaken. Right? Then, one of Susan fears came true.
