Streaks of Blue – by Jack Chaucer

I wasn’t sure what to expect reading this book. I received it from Book Sirens in exchange for an honest review. This is a book that is fiction, but deals with the very real and difficult topic of school shootings.

The Author did a fantastic job writing this book and I’ll look for more written Jack Chaucer.

The book starts off with the anticipation of the Senior year about to begin. So much to look forward to and friends Nicole and Candace are taking one last trip to sleep below the stars before the school year begins. Nicole wakes clearly remembering a dream or vision that she had in the night. Remembering this is confirmed in a couple of way and she sees these as signs that she needs to attempt to be friends again with Adam Upton, that she knew in Elementary School. She thinks that Adam needs her to help bring his life back in the right direction.

Adam and his friend Thomas “Lee” Harvey are planning a school shooting at their High School in New Hampshire. Thomas is not happy that Nicole is trying to be friends with Adam again, after so many years have passed since playing together on the playground when they were young.

Nicole knows 12:14 has significance from her vision. But, 12:14 when? 12:14 how? Can she stop it? Does she have enough information to go to the Police? Would they believe her? Can she stop this in time? Can she get Adam to stop it?

**Half of the proceeds from this novel will be donated to the Newtown Memorial Fund. A really awesome thing for the Author to do!**
